David Olejnik
Dave started his coffee journey at the renowned Opposite Espresso Bar in Leeds in 2006. While working as a barista under the guidance of UKBC finalist Lou Henry, what started out as a casual passion grew into something much larger to be explored.Dave then returned to his previous job as a touring guitar technician but his passion for great coffee followed him around the world as he would search out interesting coffee shops in which ever city he found himself in.
Two years later he moved back to the UK and promptly met Paul at the UKBC northern heats in early 2008. A casual conversation between the two led to an impromptu interview and Dave began working with Coffee Community in March of 2008.
Dave has now trained many happy baristas up and down the country and made his first move into the UKBC this year. His first taste of competition started well, picking up best espresso and best signature drink categories at the midlands heat of the UKBC and going on to finish 4th at the finals in Glasgow
